ADV provides individual and support group counseling and advocacy to children ages 5 and older who are impacted by domestic violence. The ADV Children’s Program offers goal-oriented paraprofessional counseling to help children identify and process their feelings, build self-esteem and develop healthy relationships with peers and adults. For a child to receive services, the (victim) parent must also participate in ADV services.
Child Protective Services
ADV receives funding through the Riverside County Child Protective Services (CPS) to provide individual psychological counseling for children of domestic violence victims who are referred to ADV by Child Protective Services because they are being exposed to domestic violence in the home.
Casa de Paz Children's Services
ADV has a professionally staffed, state-licensed childhood development center at its Casa de Paz shelter. The program includes respite child care. There is specialized case management, individual and group counseling, advocacy, structured and free play and parenting education.
